Borsa Istanbul yesterday published the figures for the country’s precious metals trading for March this year. As the data shows, gold imports fell compared to February but increased compared to the same period last year.
Gold imports totaled 21.67 tons in March, compared to 57.45 tons in February and 8.76 tons in March 2022. Year-to-date, the country’s gold imports have already reached 147.45 tons.
Turkey also imported as much as 123.15 tons of silver in the third month of the year, compared to 82.65 tons in February. This March, this was a record for the period since the data began to be released in 1999. In March 2022, 68.17 tons of the white metal had been imported. Year to date, the country’s silver imports totaled 278.88 tons.
