Romania does Not Allow Cars on The Border with Bukovina: What Happened

Approximately 400 trucks are waiting in line at the Porubnoye checkpoint.

Romania temporarily stopped the clearance of trucks due to the checkpoint “Porubne” in the Chernivtsi region. Border guards also do not let cars through.

Konstantin Lesnik, senior officer of the press service of the Chernivtsi border detachment, told Suspilny about this in a commentary to Suspilny .

Due to snow drifts, the Romanian traffic police banned the passage of cars from the Dyakovtsy and Krasnoilsk checkpoints, which are traveling in the direction of Suceava and Siret.

“Pedestrian crossings work. Cars make out both sides, but when drivers leave the checkpoint, the Romanian traffic police stop them due to complicated traffic,” Lesnik said.

The passage of cars is suspended until the Romanians clear the roads of snow. According to Lesnik, this could take up to five hours.

By the way, approximately 400 trucks are waiting in line at the Porubnoye checkpoint. There are no queues of cars and pedestrians at any checkpoint.

As reported, on the morning of April 6, queues formed in front of the checkpoint with neighboring states to leave Ukraine. There are also cars and buses. The longest queues were recorded at the border with Poland. There are no queues at checkpoints in the Moldovan direction.
