Venezuelan Foreign Minister Attends Nam’s Meeting in Azerbaijan

On his Twitter account, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy indicated that the NAM is “the largest movement of countries that maintains its struggle for a new fair world order.”

In the audiovisual accompanying the message, Gil pointed out that this will be the last encounter of the Bolivarian Republic as a member of the troika, unfolding that in 2024 Uganda will assume the pro tempore presidency of the bloc.

Accompanied by the Caracas’ Ambassador to Azerbaijan Christopher Martinez, the minister explained that the delegation he presides will fulfill a work agenda within the NAM and another parallel agenda with bilateral meetings with different nations.

The Non-Aligned Movement was born in 1961, in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia, as an alternative movement to defend a fair world order, based on the principles of the United Nations Charter, he recalled.

The FM pointed out that at this meeting Venezuela will continue to defend this new world order against regional movements that “try to impose interference and domination” on the peoples worldwide.

Gil stressed that, at the meeting of over 120 countries, the Bolivarian Republic will bring its voice and the message of President Nicolas Maduro.
